The general consensus among researchers of this family is that Hannah O'Donnell was born in the year 1814 - the year in which she was baptised. However, all other evidence points to the year 1811 as her birthyear... including the T.D. Mutch Index, the order of daughters in the Probate of Hugh O'Donnell (Hannah being the second); Hannah's stated age on her death certificate.
To wit from the Probate of her father Hugh O'Donnell (No. 1233, Series 1):
…I have no reason to be satisfied with the conduct of my son-in-law John Healy the husband of my second daughter Hannah. I hereby declare and it is to be clearly understood as my wish and intention that he shall never enjoy any part of my second daughter Hannah's portion but that it is to be entirely for her sole and separate use and benefit and that he shall have no part power to sell or let the same or any part thereof or to occupy or live therein without the consent of said Hannah and in case of my said daughter Hannah dying before her said husband, or before any of her children shall attain the age of twenty-one years, then and in such case her portion is to be held in trust for the benefit of her children by her brother Hugh O'Donnell.
