There was at one time a dispute among members of the Hely family
over the name of John HELY's father. Some assert "William" HELY as
his name, others as John (Thomas) HELY. The informant on the death
certificate of John HELY was John Thomas HELY, child of John HELY
and Hannah O'DDONNELL: his eldest son. He states that his paternal
grandfather's name was John.
