General Notes:
1841 U.K. Census - Crawlboys, Wiltshire Given age: 12 years
Note: Age on death was given as 25 years old. Possibly this has been rounded off to the nearest 5 years (since, if the christening date is correct, then Ann would've been at least 27 years of age when she died).
Research Notes:
There was some confusion over whether Ann Pike was born in Andover, Wiltshire or Andover, Hampshire. However, after sifting through the 1841 U.K. Census, there is no family of George and Elizabeth Pike in Hampshire; however, there is one in Wiltshire, with a daughter Ann whose age matches c.1830. Perhaps it is also of interest that the abovementioned Ann had a sister named Charlotte.
Marriage Information:
Ann married Thomas Wemyss JOYCE, son of William JOYCE and Mary PILMOOR, on 19 Dec 1847 in Paddington, London England 13630. (Thomas Wemyss JOYCE was born on 6 Dec 1824 in London, England 13301, christened on 20 Mar 1825 in St. Marylebone, London, England, died on 7 Apr 1866 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and was buried on 7 Apr 1866 in Camperdown, Sydney, N.S.W., Australia.) The cause of his death was tuberculosis (consumption).
